in plaid sight

Are you seeing plaid? We are here at the shop. In all different shapes, sizes and colors. And I have to admit I kind of love it! Here are a few new arrivals from this week.

U2, yes please

U2 was amazing, not that I really needed to clarify. Found this article today about how to dress like Bono. The whole crew is ridiculously cool and I'd strive to emulate their rock star style any day of the week!

week end

"see what you need
then you'll see there's no other way to be
take your time, don't be shy
it's your time to shine"
-no time on the horizon, U2

still haven't found what you're looking for?

In case you've been living under a rock, U2 is coming to town this Sat night! We've had lots of customers in shopping for outfits. It's tricky because it's at the awesome, beautiful, wonderful Carter Finley Stadium which for those non-State fans is outside. It's going to be chilly so layering will be key in keeping you warm without sacrificing style. Who wants to watch one of the coolest bands ever under a jacket, not me. Here are a few samples to channel your inner-rock star:
anything red just feels like U2 style

charcoal gray is another rock star color and matches w/the obvious choice of black; I read somewhere that 30% of your body heat is lost from your neck so bundle up with a scarf

this is actually what I'll probably be sporting from our seats at carter finley, so excited!

FAQ

Working at the shop everyday I probably get this question asked the most, "Is this a shirt or a dress?" It's a completely valid question since the dress hem lines are shorter and the top hem lines are much longer than they have been in the past. Instead of looking at this as a problem, look at the positive. You now have multiple ways to wear one item, making the things you buy more versatile. I put together an example below of how you can wear one of our knit dresses as a dress or make it into a top!

Tresics, Scoop Neck Knit Dress with Smocked Waist
Shown here as a dress w/scarf and chunky necklace, finish off with tights and boots
Shown here as a tunic top, belts are a great way to shorten dresses/tunics and break up the fabric so it doesn't look as long

do I dare

I follow quite a few blogs throughout the week in order to stay inspired and find new ideas for the shop & life in general. Great style is out there everywhere, even in places you'd least expect it. Here are a few of my favorites:
Thus came my next idea. I have seen quite a few of them dedicate to 100 days of blogging. I am choosing to do this myself as to 1. get in the habit of blogging more often & 2. share even more about Gigi's and the great style in the world around us. So, I am here by dedicated to 100 blog posts (disclaimer: I am doing this for 100 work days, i.e. mon-fri for 100 posts) Thanks so much to the few of you that do follow this blog! I would love to know who you are, so post a comment every once in awhile to say hi!
